The Challenge A large Midwest private equity firm asked Equity Risk Partners to take over as insurance broker and outsourced risk management advisor for one of its portfolio companies in the golf course management business. At the time Equity Risk Partners took over, the company's insurance program renewal was less than 45 days away. The situation was complicated by the fact that the golf management firm was in the process of negotiating a major acquisition that would more than double the size of the company. Further, the renewal of the company's existing insurance program and the targeted close of the acquisition were only days apart. Our Solution Equity Risk Partners hit the ground running, deploying a team of experienced professionals that simultaneously collected information on the existing properties as well as those targeted for acquisition. We analyzed exposures and claim histories and worked with the company's insurance carrier to design a program that could accommodate the new acquisitions. In the course of our analysis, we identified two existing properties that had inadvertently been left uninsured by the firm's previous broker. Equity Risk Partners renewed coverage on the existing properties on time and with a significant reduction in cost. In addition, insurance coverage was ready for the acquisition on the targeted close date. |
